Italian painter, Venetian school (b. 1659, Belluno, d. 1734, Venezia).Painter and draughtsman. He painted light and colourful religious, historical and mythological subjects with a fluid, painterly touch. His rediscovery of Paolo Veronese, whose settings and costumes he borrowed, was important to later Venetian painters. I Stockholm i augusti 1828 påbörjade Magnus och Wilhelm von Wright bildverket Svenska Foglar, finansierat av greve Nils Bonde. Detta ornitologiska verk blev klart 1838 och ar en en samling pa178 litografier.

Granet is known for his depictions of church interiors, among them his numerous versions of the Choir of the Capuchin Monastery, one of which is in the Metropolitan Museum.
